yulong's totally damn right, and there's no use in digging in what situation it brings because the syntax is plain in there and compulsory for us to do or say it right.

"There's nothing I could do but leave the car", meaning that leaving the car is only one choice for them and they didn't have no other way to do. In this case, the correct conjunction for the right syntax is "but".

We use "instead of" when we have multiple choices to get rid of that freaking situation. For instance, instead of leaving the car, they spent the night in the car and fucked on the back seat.

This is one of the son-of-the-bitch inversions ("đảo ngữ" in Vietnamese, if you will). Inversion is used when we want to emphasize what we mean and used in several certain cases. Jump here or here to read more.

Never say "explain me" because there's no situation in English for us to say like that. It's to say: Explain something to somebody > explain it/that to me.
Well, you actually could use "explain me" in case where you want to refer yourself in the third person

Don't use "where" here bro

"Refer" goes along with "to".

I think he should use "Show her my dick!"

I think he should use "Show her my dick!"
- "in case where..", what's the problem with that?

- Yeah, right, refer to oneself.
So, "explain me" in, like "I need to explain me!", means I need to show who the true me is, and "me" in this case is the third person. It's simple as that.

"in case you want to refer...." should be correct.

Oh, I see, but it ain't wrong, dude. Say, "you want to refer to yourself in the third person" is a full sentence, which the preposition "in" belongs to, while the conjunction "in case where" is a unique element. So, this "where" from "in case where" has nothing to do with that "in" from "in the third person".
