I dont know how to call it but I think the above sentence is short for "the price for this brand is high when it is compared to other brands' on the market"

Or you can write in another way : "the price for this brand is high in comparison to other brands on the market"

I dont think there is article "the" in front of "other brands"

I think it's an adverbial clause. Your sentence, when being explicitly written, should be as follows:

"The price for this brand is high when being compared to (the) other brands on the market"

Nevertheless, we shall wait for the grammar Nazi on his next inspection round.
