There are 2 common types of tool for boxer. Heavy bag and speed bag. Heavy bag is a large, suspended, sand-filled bag use for punching. You can use them for kicking also. Speed bag is a small hanging, air-filled bag for punching. It's mainly used for training the speed of the hands, cause you have to continuously punch both your hands on it.

Type 2 means that the cells can't absorb the glucose in the blood (the main energy for our body). According to my sister, , your granma should eat food low in Carbohydrate (sugar) and high in Protein. It will trigger the secretion of Glucagon - a hormone that helps burn Fat as energy instead of glucose (better than let those cells starve to death).
So, she should eat less rice (high in Carbohydrate), eat something like yoghurt, cheese, mushroom (pretty good), lạc (don't know the English word for this ), eggs, most type of salad vegetables.
