I think you're being a bit cynical about yourself. Objectively speaking, 6.5 is quite easy and it is the band score most people get. Things only get difficult when you push for the perfect scores, something like 8.5 or 9 is really challenging, not because the test is hard, but because it's human nature to make mistakes. As for your situation, I am far from being diligent in my study. Maybe I'm gifted with some kind of special ability to memorize things better than others, but that's unlikely cuz my short term memory is kinda shit, courtesy of my frequent nuts. Try to stop thinking too much and just immerse yourself in English, which is what babies do when they are... babies.

Vietnam's English education in general is very good in practicing and mastering grammar and writing at the intermediate level. But you have to go out and practice a lot with the foreigners if you want to hone your speaking, accent and listening. As for resources, Solutions textbook series from England are really good for beginners and those who want to advance English. Though, those books could help you achieve at max 7.5/8.0/9.0 IELTS, which is despite a big deal for everyone, not a big achievement for fluent speakers. In order to achieve such fluency in English as much as those who have studied, are studying and will be studying abroad, reading & critical understanding, being able to catch the necessary keywords from a conversation and being able to respond in a formal or informal way depending on the situation demands a lot, A LOT of real life practice. Books alone can't help you with this level of fluency.
You're basically talking about stuff that anyone with a band score 9 can easily do any day of the week. And it seems like your concept of fluency relies a bit too much on 'formality', rather than the accuracy of the response. It doesn't hurt being polite to other people right? Look like you're having some kind of Japanese PTSD or something. Why have 3 ways of using the language (formal, semi-formal, and informal) when you can be nice and polite in stead? The differences are not that big anyway

Re: Practicing English with vOzers :D

I have few thoughts to share with you guys.

First of all, the principle of learning English is being hard working. Being hard working does not mean you have to learn English for hours everyday. You can just spend 15-30 minutes per day learning English as long as you do it EVERYDAY. I have been learning and training English for years and from my own experience, English skills get worse easily by not practicising or using them daily. Do not bear in mind the concept like "oh today I feel so lazy so I may skip. Just 1 day then tmr I will learn double amount".

Secondly, many people love learning English from songs but in my opinion it is not quite a good choice. In song lyrics, grammar is not always correct since the composers tend to make the sentence sounds nice (to fit the rymth or whatever). Watching movie is better I think. If general movies are too fast for you, try to watch some cartoon. Watching movies can help you immitate the way how the native speak English.

Finally, the ultimate purpose of language is to communicate. Your English is acceptable as long as the listener can understand fully your ideas. IELTS/TOEIC score is a good benchmark tool to evaluate your ability but you should not focus on how many points you can get too much. You should focus on the core purpose of learning English: to understand and transfer ideas fully. Don't feel shy or upset if your English is not good enough. Remember: Practice makes Perfect.

Wish you all luck and success.
