It's more popular with speaking/talking, because using it in writing (essays) is informal.

However, in short/long stories and fictions, it is okay to use. But then again, people often use it in verbal communication.

people use "movies" instead of "films", "film" is more often referred as a verb, or the stuff you must have in order to capture pictures using those old cameras .

My very old English book since high school called "film" or "movie" are motion pictures =)

I think it 'd be better if we make use this 2pic as where to Q&A, about E and moreover, to check - correct the grammar and spelling errors, than just to talk the gossip. in order to do this, we should use standard language amap, and restrict the use of slang word or/and informal ways.

If possible, please correct above for me
