Say, "you want to refer to yourself in the third person" is a full sentence, which the preposition "in" belongs to, while the conjunction "in case where" is a unique element. So, this "where" from "in case where" has nothing to do with that "in" from "in the third person".
You got me wrong bro :"> I didn't mean that, there isn't a prep. following (where + clause).
Did you mean: "Well, you actually could use "explain me" in case you want to refer to yourself as the third person" ?

"at" should be correct.
And btw, "were" should be replaced by "are"

- Yeah, right, refer to oneself.
So, "explain me" in, like "I need to explain me!", means I need to show who the true me is, and "me" in this case is the third person. It's simple as that.
In case of smth or In case + phrase. If you put where in to the latter half of your sentence it no longer is a phrase because it lacks a verb. "Where i want to live is my homeland is a phrase". SO, as yulong has said you should omit where.
I need to explain myself is better, isn't it?

Or you should you "as" instead of "in"

Thanks.

to Wise Blue: If you want to update yourself to a totally new version, you should be more friendly. Don't use "excuse me", it's not friendly....something like "hey" is better...
This topic is where we learn English together, right? So if you think it's a strange syntax that I or somebody doesn't know it, you should explain to us. We're all VOZers right? VOZers are brothers.

Please re-read my sentence, bro, before speaking a correction out!

And there's no excuse for using "as" instead of "in" while "in the third person" is normally being said ^^
