After testing the new "4 Mùa" swimming pool at 493 Trương Định, I think I should warn you guys about it, a pool with a green water and a 160cm depth , the water, therefore, stays you-know-how cold
That pool is the best place for children and idiots. *sighs*

Re: Learning English with vOzers :D

In English, an idiom is usually an expression, for example "chém gió" in VNmese, it doesn't mean "cut the wind" or "Honda Airblade", you know it, right?
Those in VNmese are called "tục ngữ" (without author), are "proverbs" in English, and those with author are called "maxims"

There're an ocean of proverbs out there, may be two or three, not sure, but if you speak something and then it's used by 1 million of people, it's called a proverb. Do you get it? Don't depend on the tradition, create it!

No, no, you are getting a little bit confused, that Yulong dude is trying to explain to you that the vietnamese saying above is not an idiom, rather a proverb. An idiom should look like this : to hit the sack(it means to go to bed), or go bananas(go mad) etc.
About a proverb ,or what it is, well, Yulong gave you a clear definition of the word in his preprevious post.

Re: Learning English with vOzers :D

oh yeah, i got it. Sorry, I was a little bit confused with idiom and proverb back then. But my point is do we have an english version of the proverb that i just mentioned ??
For example, "trèo cao, té đau" --> "the greater you climb, the harder you fall"...
