What is happening?



On Alienware M17x R3 computers equipped with an nVIDIA GTX 460M the system may crash to Blue Screen errors (BSOD). This happens especially on video related applications such as games and video playback.



The BSOD codes that are shown are normally: 0x0000001E, 0x0000000A or 0x0000070A.



System will stop showing this behavior once the Video driver is removed.



Reason



This behavior will occur when the video driver is not updated. Driver must be the version 267.64, A01 or higher





Solution

1. Click Here to download the latest driver for the nVidia GeForce GTX 460M.

2. Click Download and follow the on-screen instructions to download the file to your system.

3. Click

4. Click Control Panel

5. Click Uninstall a program or Programs and Features

6. Double click NVIDIA Drivers

7. Click Remove all NVIDIA drivers, including Display

8. Click Remove and follow the on-screen instructions.

9. Restart the system once the removal process is complete.

10. Search for the downloaded file and double click on it. The file name is NVIDIA_GEFORCE-GTX-460M_A01_R300038.exe

11. The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract or unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R300038. Write down this path so the executable (I.e. Setup.exe) file can be found later.

12. The Self-Extractor window appears.

13. Click OK.

14. After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor window is still open, close it.

15. Click the Start button and then click Run.

16. Type C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R300038 in the Open textbox and then click OK.

17. Follow the on-screen installation instructions.

18. Once completed restart your system

What is happening?

If you have experience BSOD's while playing games or running 3D applications, we recommend the following troubleshooting to fix the problem.


Suggested Solutions

Go to the Bios, go to Advanced and disable the "SpeedStep" option.
Verify if the Computer got the BSOD after Sleep or hibernation.
Check the Ac/adapter to be 240watts and not 210watts. A weak power supply can cause the BSOD.
Check if the system is overclocked from factory, disable it(if not verify with CPU-Z the actual clock values.
Click on "Start" when your Windows 7 loads, on the search bar, type "msconfig" and hit "Enter", go to the "Startup" tab and disable all the applications listed, then go to the "Services" tab and check mark the "Hide all Microsoft Service" and then click on "Disable all Services". After doing all this, click on Apply and restart the computer. Test the computer and if no BSOD is shown, start re-enabling one by one each Service and each Startup application until you discover which one is causing the BSOD.
Go to Device Manager and under the Power Management tab uncheck "Allow computer to turn off power".
Run Windows Updates.

Run a Diagnostic
Check system BIOS (update if necessary)
Update the Chipset, Wireless and Video Card Driver (You can use the drivers from support.dell.com.)
Change the Virtual Memory from Automatically Manage by Windows to Manually Set. We recommend to set the Virtual Memory with a Minimum of 2048MB and a Maximum of 4096MB. For How to change the virtual memory, refer to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/w...virtual-memory.

riêng em thì up thằng lên Bios Modded và disable luôn thằng VGA ôm bô thấy ko bị gì nữa......lại ổn định và mượt hơn khá nhiều.....

ra là thế, bảo báo giá part cho mình mà im ru, coi bộ số thằng ku plbtlc xui vãi nhỉ, xém được con hàng thơm thì bị khui , mà tay này có vẻ đang đói dữ lắm thì phải, lừa từ quả nhỏ tới lớn, vài trăm - 1 triệu cũng lừa tuốt

Lỗi gì tui cũng ko rõ.lúc bị quên để ý.chắc nhiều %
là do bi sung drivers.tại máy đang chạy mà bị màn hình xanh.

lỗi quá thì đổi máy đi bác, có con m17x r1 đang xài ổn định nè, đổi ko bác
